Throwback Thursday: Sex and The City Filmed at The Riccardo Maggiore Salon

Carrie Bradshaw is, once again, the talk of the town. Earlier this year, audiences everywhere gleefully cheered into their handheld devices after the reboot of Sex and The City was officially greenlighted by HBO Max. How could they have not? Bradshaw gave us a glimpse of some of the most iconic and glamorous locations in New York City-- including the Riccardo Maggiore Salon.

In fact, it’s arguable that the salon played a role in one of Bradshaw’s pivotal hair moments. In the first Sex and The City Movie, Carrie’s signature golden locks get a darker makeover at the hands of a top stylist in the salon’s 57th street location. “It took a whole day to shoot for a shot that was less than 30 seconds,” Maggiore says with a grin. “But, it was a whole lotta fun.”

Below, check out some of the clips from the iconic scene. And, whether it’s going through the original or watching the reboot, always remember that Riccardo Maggiore did it first! If Bradshaw trusts us, so should you. Book an appointment here or call 212.586.6482
