Beauty Tips for your Work from Home Lifestyle
With everything going on in the world, many of us are making big lifestyle shifts. Adjusting to video meetings and virtual gatherings with loved ones comes with a lot of challenges, including less access to the ways we normally practice beauty. At Riccardo Maggiore, we are finding fun ways to maintain our beauty routines at home until we can finally get back into the salon. We’re working hard to remain positive in these strange times and we’re enjoying finding hairstyles and beauty hacks that make being home a breeze!
Achieving simple hairstyles that look cute on camera doesn’t have to be a headache! We love the classics: messy buns, loose waves, using clips to pin hair back and half-up-half-down styles. Although these looks are effortlessly stylish on their own, it can be fun to dress them up.
Messy buns, for example, look particularly chic with glasses and a pair of earrings as the extra accessories will balance out the simplicity of the bun itself. If you’re bored with your usual loose waves, you can try playing with the volume by curling smaller or larger pieces than you normally do. And why not step out of your comfort zone with accessories? Add a cute hair tie to your half-up-half-down hair for some extra oomph or have some fun by trying different ways to pin back your hair.
If you’ve tried every version of the aforementioned go-to hairstyles, take some time to perfect a new one! We love this blog post on stayathomemum.com: 10 Lazy Hairstyles Ideas. Check it out for a list of ten no-fuss hairstyles with gorgeous results.
On top of styling your hair, you can boost your video call confidence with other beauty hacks! If you need to throw on some makeup before a Zoom meeting, focus on your brows, lips and cheeks. All you need for a polished and refreshed look is a little added definition to your eyebrows (fill them in with any pencil or gel you have around), a pop of blush (focused on the apples of the cheeks since the camera view is likely straight on) and some color on your lips! Also, try focusing on what is in view above the keyboard. Necklaces, earrings, hair accessories and tops with flattering necklines are great ways to look and feel good through the screen.
Most importantly, have fun and do what makes you feel confident. We can all afford to lend ourselves some extra self-care these days.
